Robert Brown
Robert Brown was born in Portland, Oregon and has Master of
Fine Arts from the University of Montana and a Ph.D. in English
from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has a passion
for both photography and literature, and has published short
stories, children's books, scholarly articles, and over 100
poems in literary and academic journals. His book of poems,
Sleepwalking with Mayakovsky, was published by Kent State University
Press.
A little over four years ago, Bob discovered photography and
has been able to think of little since. He's developed an interest
in the "poetic image" and tries to incorporate the
subtlety and symbolism of poetry into his photography. His favorite
subjects include landscapes, flowers, abstracts, photo impressionism,
travel, and Americana. He's had shows in several Northwest galleries
and has had photographs used for book and CD covers, as well
as for some advertising.
Bob lives in Astoria, Oregon at the end of the Lewis and Clark
trail. He's married and is the proud father of 11-year-old
twins. |
